What the free plugin stores

Your announcement settings are saved in Joomla’s own extension parameters for the plugin: the message, optional button text and link, colours, font sizes, spacing, placement, device visibility and the dismissible switch. They live in your Joomla database alongside the rest of your extension configuration.

The plugin creates one small table for the daily impression and click counters. No copies of the settings are sent anywhere.

Analytics counters

The free and Pro dashboards show anonymous impressions, button clicks and click-through rate for the last 30 days. The plugin stores two integers per day in a table on your own site. No IP address, user agent, referrer, cookie, session or visitor identifier is stored. The browser sends a same-origin request only for the bar that is already rendered, and it respects Do Not Track.

These counters are not sent to PLANO. Deleting the free plugin removes the table and the counters.

What the frontend does

• Loads one stylesheet and one small script from your own site.
• Renders the message you wrote as escaped plain text.
• Hides the bar for the current page view when a visitor clicks close.
• Sets no cookies and writes nothing to local or session storage.
• Sends one same-origin counter request for an impression and one for a button click.
• Makes no advertising or third-party requests.

No IP addresses, user agents, referrers or visitor identifiers are collected. Rotation and countdowns in Pro run in the browser from values already printed into the page; they make no network requests.

Announcement Pilot Pro license checks

Pro stores the key you enter and a signed license token in the same Joomla plugin parameters. When you save the key, or when the token is missing or close to expiry, the plugin posts to https://licenses.weareplano.gr/v1/licenses/activate, /check or /deactivate.

Those requests contain only:

• the license key,
• your site root URL,
• the plugin version and product identifier.

They do not include announcement text, visitor data, page URLs other than the site root, or Joomla user details. The licensing service stores the key, the site URL, the activation date and subscription status so it can enforce the one-site limit and show your sites in the license account. Ordinary server logs at the licensing host may record IP address and user agent for security and operations.

Frontend page views normally make no request. When the saved token is missing or within three days of expiry, the next page view may trigger one activation or check, at most once every 12 hours while the token is close to expiry and at most once an hour after a failed check. Rotation and countdowns run entirely in the browser and never contact the service. Pro verifies the signed token locally with PHP’s sodium extension, so an outage does not switch off a valid license. No visitor is identified or tracked.

Removing the license key and saving stops future checks and clears the stored token. Deactivate the site in the portal first if you want to reuse the license elsewhere.

Billing and card data

Pro subscriptions are sold on licenses.weareplano.gr through Stripe. Stripe is the merchant of record and handles payment details, tax and invoicing. The Joomla plugin never asks for card data, never renders a checkout form and never receives payment information. See the pricing page linked from checkout for the terms that apply to your purchase.

Update and download requests

Joomla may request the public update XML and, when you choose to update, the free package ZIP from licenses.weareplano.gr. Those requests necessarily include ordinary web-server information such as an IP address and user agent. The host may keep standard access logs for security and operations. PLANO does not use them to profile sites or visitors, and the plugin sends no site content with the request.

Downloading the free ZIP from this website is a normal file download. This site does not set advertising cookies or run third-party analytics.

Support email

If you email contact@weareplano.gr, PLANO receives the address and content you choose to send. Use it only for support, keep passwords and customer data out of it, and ask us to delete the thread when it is no longer needed.

Your responsibilities

You control the announcement text and destination link. Do not publish personal or confidential information in the bar. If your site uses the bar to mention an offer, make sure the wording and the linked page comply with the rules that apply to your business.

Your Joomla host, template, other extensions and payment providers process data under their own policies. This plugin does not change those arrangements.
